Extra Curricular Activities

In Session 3 an exciting range of performing arts activities are available for all students. Students have the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument. Field trips, foreign excursions and adventurous residential visits are a regular feature at Walsall Academy and there is a strong Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

All activities will start week commencing Monday 14 September 2009.

Sporting Fixtures

Please note that there will be a huge fixture list for matches within the PE department that will be in addition to the planned activities below. This may impact upon the availability of the Sports Hall for some activities or even staff availability to fulfil a fixture, consequently an activity may be cancelled. Students will be notified in advance of such occasions via the Electronic Notice-board in the Restaurant.

Performing Arts

Students involved in the Performing Arts may also be required to attend extra rehearsals in preparation for performance. Students will be informed via the Electronic Notice-board in the Restaurant.

Music Academy

If a member of staff is unable to teach due to illness students will be informed as early as possible so that they can make alternative arrangements with parents, the Academy will also attempt to contact parents directly. Please could parents contact the Academy if their child is ill and unable to make an Instrumental lesson, in line with the policy within the contracts signed. Please note there is a Music Academy performance at 7.00pm on Wednesday 21 October 2009 in the Theatre.
