Building on Key stage 2
The vision of the Art and Design Curriculum is to enable students to become creative and critical thinkers who able to articulate their ideas using a specialist art vocabulary. Learning is sequenced to give students transferable skills that they can adapt to each of the projects they study. Underpinning these skills is the ability to mark make in its various forms. They develop skills and knowledge of art techniques through problem solving and innovative thinking. Studying Art and Design gives students a broader understanding of their environment and allows them to interpret this in different media, materials and techniques.
